Shorty ~ Frenchie & Bulldog mix ~ Female ~ 26 lbs ~ DOB: 03/12/2017

Meet shorty, she is our newest intake, although not ready yet, we wanted to post her and give you a little bit of information on her. She is an adorable little girl. Shorty is 6 yrs old, 26 lbs and a mixture of French Bulldog and English Bulldog. She is quite small for her breed and stands midcalf. She was used by a breeder to pump out puppies to sell and when they were done, they discarded her. We have taken her in, and although not ready yet, we wanted to get her face out there. Shorty is adorable, an absolute snuggle bunny and a love of a dog. A bit emotionally neglected in her prior home she welcomes any love and affection from her person, she eats it up. Shorty is pending her Vet appointment and waiting on her spay. She is current on her vaccinations and microchipped. Shorty will be available in April for adoption.

Minnie is our newest intake, although not ready yet, we wanted to post her and give you a little bit of information on her. She is an adorable little Hippopotamus. Minnie is 8 yrs old, 31 lbs and a mixture of French Bulldog and English Bulldog. She is small for her breed and stands midcalf. She was used by a breeder to pump out puppies to sell and when they were done, they discarded her. We have taken her in, and although not ready yet, we wanted to get her face out there. Minnie is adorable, an absolute snuggle bunny and a love of a dog. A bit emotionally neglected in her prior home she welcomes any love and affection from her person, she eats it up. Puppies are a lot of work and this gal will easily be a 13 – 16 year commitment. Freda is in foster care with our Beagle pup and a bunch of senior dogs and doing well. The senior dogs do not like puppy energy so she is learning quickly how to navigate around that. She enjoys the company of the other puppy in her foster home. Housebreaking is under way and she is catching on fast. Her foster mom is retired and works out of the home so she is under constant supervision and doing well. Freda is an active girl and would do best if you have another relatively young dog in your home for her to learn from. Puppies love companionship, although not a requirement we will give priority to a home with another younger dog. Freida is current on her vaccinations, chipped and will be spayed when of age. She will need to be adopted into our relative area of the South Bay, PV, Redondo, Hermosa, Manhattan, Long Beach, Huntington, Newport, OC Beach cities. She will need to return to our vet for shots and to be spayed. Kids 6 and older please

Tipper ~ Beagle ~ Male ~ DOB 01/07/2023 ~

Calling all Beagle lovers!!! We’ve got a cutie here!! Tipper is an ADORABLE, pure bred Beagle puppy. He was born on 12/31/2022. His family owner surrendered him to rescue after quickly realizing they did not have enough time in their lives and schedules to raise a puppy. Yes, puppies are a lot of work, and this time around, we are looking for Beagle savvy people! We want people who know and love the breed as Tipper can be a bit needy. Tipper is in foster care with another female puppy and a bunch of senior dogs and doing well. The senior dogs do not like his energy, so he is learning quickly how to navigate around that. He enjoys the company of the other puppy, Freda, in his foster home. Tipper will need another dog in his home to play with. Housebreaking is under way, and he is catching on fast. His foster mom is retired and works out of the home, so he is under constant supervision and doing well. He is an active boy and would appreciate an active family. Tipper is current on his vaccinations, microchipped and will be neutered when of age. Nemo ~ Frenchie/Bulldog mix ~ 23 lbs ~ DOB: 06/23/22

Nemo was bought from a back yard breeder who was recklessly breeding Frenchies and Bulldogs. This little guy was born on 6/23/22 with swimmers syndrome. To learn what swimmers syndrome is, click here Swimmers Syndrome Swimmer puppies can usually recover with an early diagnosis and physical therapy. Nemo did not get treatment for the first 5 months of his life and his prior family eventually took him in to be euthanized. Leslie, a dog physical therapist, stepped in to get him and asked our group to back her while she helps Nemo improve as much as possible. Leslie fosters Nemo and he goes to PT 3 times a week where he swims, gets stretched and learns how to use his wheels. He is borrowing a chair until he finishes growing and then he will get a custom chair made for him. Nemo is adorable and has determination in him! This little guy will steal your heart when you meet him. He will be a wheel chair dog for life and his custom chair will be purchased by our group. We will be fundraising for that shortly. In the mean time, Nemo has seen our Vet and Dr. Sebestyen from Veterinary Surgical Specialists and the consensus is… nothing to do but PT and help Nemo function to the best of his ability. Nemo has been vaccinated, neutered and chipped. Please see his videos above to see how he started out with us and how he is doing now.

Perry ~ Goldendoodle ~ Male ~ 3 yrs ~ 65 lbs

Meet Perry! He is a beautiful, 3 year old, male Goldendoodle. He is a big goof ball!…but he’s very loving, sweet and friendly. His prior owners got him, then neglected him emotionally and physically. Perry is good with other dogs and loves kids, over 7 yrs will be best. BEFORE YOU APPLY – This time around we are looking for a family with a lot of time on your hands to work with him and train him. He is a 3 year old dog with a puppy mentality. He really knows nothing, not even sit. We have been working with him for the last two weeks and he has really improved, but of course still needs work. He would definitely benefit from a basic obedience class or two and more socialization won’t hurt as well. He was emotionally neglected & physically neglected in his prior home. He arrived filthy, we had to shave him down and treat an ear infection. He has seen the vet, is vaccinated, chipped and will be neutered on March 9th. His coat is now growing in beautifully. He needs training, needs to be housebroken and needs someone to treat him well and love him. No cats. Perry needs a house with a yard situation please.

Pauly ~ Hemingway Polydactyl ~ Male kitten ~ 8 weeks old

Pauly is a beautiful, male, Hemingway Polydactyl kitten. Generally, the genetic mutation that causes extra toes is harmless and is not considered a deformity. He is a very sweet, very active and very playful little kitten. He was born around 01/07/2023. He is very friendly and well socialized and like most kittens he would do better with another little kitten or young cat to play with.
Pauly still needs 2 more vaccines and needs to be neutered. He will need to be placed locally, in the South Bay, PV or Long beach areas work best for us.

Mouse ~ Chihuahua ~ Female ~ 9 lbs ~ 8 – 9 yrs old ~

We pulled Mouse out of the Harbor shelter where she entered as a stray. We have no back history on her. Our Vet estimated her age to be 8-9 years old and she is full grown at 9 lbs. She is a sweet, quiet little lady. We were able to get her into foster care and although she is tolerant of the other small dogs, its apparent that she does not want to share your attention. She is a typical Chihuahua in that she is a lap guarder and would prefer to be the only dog. We believe that she came from a home with a man. She loves her men. She is also completely housebroken and sleeps in a doggie bed at night with no issues. Mouse is a good eater and a professional sunbather. She is getting used to being picked up and held in her foster home. She would love to be adopted to a person who is passionate about Chihuahua’s and familiar with their mannerisms. Mouse would do best in an adult home.

Kingman ~ Husky ~ Male ~ 4.5 yrs ~ 57lbs

Kingman is approx 4.5 yrs old and 58lbs. He is incredibly loving and will follow you around the house to be close to you. He is calmer than most Huskies, and he is gentle around kids and seniors. He takes treats very gently and is quite easy to bathe/walk/clip nails, etc. Kingman is completely potty-trained, walks good on a leash, enjoys car rides and he would make a great road trip companion.

Kingman is blind in his brown eye and has a cataract in his blue eye. He can still see, he just has limited vision. This should in no way worry you…he does wonderfully and navigates the house and yard with ease. He otherwise has received a clean bill of health from the Vet. He has been introduced to big dogs, and he would do best in a home with another calm dog around his size and would love a retired person or owners that work from home. No cats

This boy is spectacular with a very loving happy go lucky personality!  If you are considering adopting a Husky, please meet our guy.

Nellie ~ Terrier mix ~ Female ~ 9 lbs ~ DOB 07/09/22 ~

Nellie is THE cutest little 9 month old puppy! She was born on 07/09/2022 and currently weighs 9 lbs. She is adorable, sweet, loving and a refreshing little puppy. Nellie is currently in foster care and potty training is going well. She is fostered with another puppy in her home and doing well. She is a little reserved when she first meets you but warms up quite quickly. Sweet Nellie would do best in an adult home, kids 15 and older. Nellie can easily be a 13 – 14 year commitment from you, so please be sure you are able to accommodate her and her needs for this amount of time. Nellie will be fine as an only dog, or with a calm dog or even an adult dog. She is currently learning to walk on leash. Nellie has seen the Vet, is current on her vaccinations, spayed and microchipped.
