Adoption Process

View our dogs – Please view our available dogs on our website and read each dogs complete biography. We regret that we can not adopt to families with children under the age of 6. We show/adopt dogs on Saturday, by appointment, from 11am to 3pm with an approved application. If you want to come and look at the dogs we currently have at our shelter, please just keep in mind the dog your coming to see may have an applicant with an approved application already coming to look/adopt the dog. Remember that most of our dogs are in foster care.

Application of Interest – If you see a dog on our website that you are interested in please submit an application of interest. Please note, you must be over 25 yrs of age to submit an application to adopt. If you are still living in your parents home, regardless of your age, the homeowner/parent must fill out the application. We regret that we can not adopt to families with children under the age of 6. No out of state adoptions.

Adoption donations vary on average from $300-$600 depending on the size, breed, age and medical condition of each dog. Please understand that this is a charitable donation used to help cover the costs associated with rescue; including medical care, vaccines, deworming, flea control, grooming, training, surgeries, dental cleanings, medication, microchips and spay/neuter surgery and is not a purchase price for a dog. All of our dogs are spayed/neutered, fully vaccinated and microchipped.

Due to our agreement with the City of LA (who holds our shelter kennel license) any unfixed puppies need to be adopted in our local area of the South Bay and North Orange County beach cities only.  No exceptions.

Our adoption process is NOT meant to be an invasion of your privacy. We do not adopt on a first-come first-serve basis. Our priority is the well-being of our dogs and they will be adopted based on the needs of that particular dog. You will only be contacted if your application is a good potential fit for the animal you are interested in.

Home check/delivery – While a home visit is required prior to final placement, it does not guarantee adoption. We like to see where our dogs will be living to make sure that they will be in a safe and secure environment. Often we can help with unforeseen health risks and help secure yards and fences that a homeowner might miss.

Questions? Email us. Please don’t call Creative Pet Supply about our rescue dogs, the employees are not involved and do not know the answers to your questions. Please email us at: info@animalsrule.org

Not up for all of this?  If for some reason you choose not to go through our screening process to adopt, please consider adopting from your local shelter.  Below are some links to shelters who euthanize on a daily basis due to shelter overcrowding.
